Dr. Jordan “Jay” Ridgeway is the official Optometrist for Virginia Tech and Radford University athletics. He is a 2004 graduate of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2014. While at UAB, Dr. Ridgeway was a member of Beta Sigma Kappa honor society. He also served as president of Student Volunteers in Optometric Service to Humanity, where he spearheaded numerous vision clinics locally, regionally and internationally. In addition to UAB, Dr. Ridgeway received clinical training in ocular disease and surgical co-management through the Birmingham VA Medical Center and Georgia Eye Partners of Atlanta.
Dr. Ridgeway practices at our Christiansburg office where he works in general optometry with an emphasis on ocular disease diagnosis and management, pediatrics, contact lenses, dry eye disorders, and routine eye exams and glasses.
In his free time, Dr. Ridgeway enjoys being on the water whether it is fishing, canoeing or boating and following Virginia Tech and UNC sports. Dr. Ridgeway is a member of the American Optometric Association, Virginia Optometric Association, and Southwest Virginia Optometric Association.
