Patrick B. Curran

Optometrist

Dr. Curran is a partner optometrist in Johnson Curran Optometry.  He graduated from the Indiana University School of Optometry in 2008 after serving externships in Pensacola, FL, Chicago, IL, and Louisville, KY. He received his biology degree from Augusta State University in 2004. While attending ASU, he was a scholarship athlete on the men’s basketball team and was a member of the Beta Beta Beta National Biological Honor Society. Dr. Curran has Southwestern Virginia roots as he graduated from Blacksburg (VA) High School in 1999

While at Indiana University, Dr. Curran presented lectures on Fuchs Endothelial Dystrophy, Band Keratopathy, and Essential Iris Atrophy. His clinical experiences included vision therapy and specialized pediatric care. He also co-managed vision screenings for the varsity athletes at Indiana University.

Dr. Curran practices in all 5 locations. He practices general optometry, emphasizing disease diagnosis and treatment, contact lenses, dry eye disease, routine vision care services, and glasses.  Dr. Curran oversees Low Vision Examinations and Visual Therapy Examinations.

Dr. Curran is a member of the American Optometric Association, Virginia Optometric Association, and Southwest Virginia Optometric Association.
