Dr. Brazil Andrews graduated cum laude from the University of the Incarnate Word Rosenberg School of Optometry in Texas, earning multiple honors including the Clinical Excellence and Vision Therapy Excellence awards. While in school, she participated in research on EnChroma color-correcting lenses and contributed to the development of testing methods for early detection of Plaquenil-related macular toxicity.
Before pursuing her optometry degree, Dr. Andrews worked as a vision therapist in Seattle, Washington—an experience that ignited her passion for helping patients with binocular vision disorders and those recovering from traumatic brain injuries. Her externship training took her to a surgical center in Florida and a specialized private practice in South Carolina, where she further honed her clinical skills.
When she’s not caring for patients, Dr. Andrews enjoys hiking and paddleboarding with her husband and their two small dogs.
